About SAS

SAS was founded in 2005 by Jason A. Coleman, M.A., R.P.A., professional archaeologist for over 15 years. Since its inception, SAS has provided services for numerous local Solano County clients and local, state, and federal agencies throughout California and other parts of the nation.

Equipped to Handle Any Job

Adapting to project needs, SAS maintains professional office, laboratory, and storage facilities. SAS laboratory facilities allow for in-house archaeological and osteological analyses to reduce the need for expensive outsourcing. Storage facilities offer temporary professional curation, including proper shelving, lighting, and security. Ready for any situation, SAS is equipped with 4WD vehicles, satellite phones, and sub-meter-accurate GPS devices.

Building Partnerships

SAS works to develop close relations with Native American groups and organizations to preserve their cultural heritage through appropriate mitigation efforts and scientific research. In addition to benefiting the Native American community, this trusted partnership also helps keep the lines of communication open to reduce potential impacts on your project.

Qualified Staff

SAS staff is highly skilled in archaeological methods, allowing them to respond to a variety of fieldwork situations. Responding quickly to evaluate potential situations when cultural resources could be impacted, SAS staff makes critical cost-effective recommendations to preserve the integrity of such resources while keeping the client compliant and a step closer to successful project completion. SAS will survey the extra mile to ensure projects are handled thoroughly and professionally; a key reason for our established repeat client base.
